Young Citizens In Action secured funding form OFMDFM to produce a youth magazine and a DVD to promote inclusion and diversity in our multi - cultural society. This project took place in Belfast from October 2008 to January 2009. The young people involved shaped the DVD and the magazine, decided on the characters and devised their own script. The purpose of the production on the DVD and Magazine is to increase awareness and respect for Northern Ireland’s ethnic diversity, promote good community relations, reduce racism, stereotyping, promote inclusiveness and equality to help break down barriers. This Project was undertaken by a group of young volunteers from Artsekta with support from VSB Young Citizens in Action and Wheelworks.
The Launch of ‘Taxi Stories’ DVD and the Magazine took place at VSB on the 19 May 2009 and were attended by a wide range of young people, youth practitioner’s organisations.
