Belfast and Castlereagh Volunteer Centre
VSB is funded through the Voluntary and Community Unit of the Department of Social Development to provide the Volunteer Centre for Belfast and Castlereagh. The role of the Volunteer Centre is to act as a broker between people who want to do voluntary work and organisations who need volunteers. During 2008 we had 4,120 registered volunteers and 658 organisations.
In addition to this the Volunteer Centre provides volunteers, advice, information, funding and training to volunteers and organisations throughout Belfast and Castlereagh. Part of the support is provided by Volunteer Organisations Linking Together (VOLT) Forum which brings voluntary and community groups from across the city together to participate in a range of training on volunteer issues and best practice.
